List WorkFlow Vs Reusable WokFlow Vs Site WorkFlow

The List workflow is only associated with a List while the Reusable work flow is attached with the particular content type. So we can't publish the List workflow as globally and can't access through the content type.

Site Work Flow: A site workflow is a workflow that is not bound to a particular SharePoint list or library, but that you can associate with and run on a particular SharePoint site.

List Workflow-> Associated with one particular List.

Example

List Workflow associated with List called->MyList

Observe the SharePoint Designer Ribbon following options are disabled

 Publish Globally.

Save  as Template .

Associate to any Content Type.

Start options available for List workflow from SharePoint designer.

Option List workflow

Reusable Workflow->Associate to Content Type, so it is reusable and can attach it to any list or library.

Also it
Publish Globally.

Save as Template. Create the WSP file.

Associate to any Content Type.

Start options available for Reusable workflow from SharePoint designer.
You can disable the workflow option.

Option Reusable workflow

Site Workflow -> Run anywhere in the site.
